AI
Odessu was a B2B outreach product built on a contrarian premise: most outreach tools optimize for volume, and volume is exactly why nobody reads cold messages anymore. Odessu went the other way. It drafted personal messages from what a client actually knew about its ideal customers, so that every message read like it was written by someone who had done their homework, because functionally it was.
The situation
An early-stage product with no engineering team of its own: the kind of build where the specification, the design, and the code either agree with each other or the product never ships. The engagement covered all of it, specification, interface design, front end, and back end, in French and in English.
The decisions
Two commitments shaped the build. First, bilingual by architecture: Odessu sold in both languages, so the product and its output treated French and English as equals from the first commit instead of translating one into the other after the fact.
Second, AI with a narrow, honest job. The product didn’t blast lists. It drafted messages from the client’s own definition of its ideal customer, one recipient at a time, and the whole design existed to keep the output sounding like a colleague rather than a campaign, which is the opposite of how mass-email tools spend a sender’s reputation.
What happened after
Odessu has since wound down, which is the fate of most early-stage products. We’d rather say that plainly. What the engagement proves hasn’t changed: one studio specified, designed, and shipped a complete bilingual AI product, front end and back end. If you’re weighing us for a full build, this page and Guy Hoquet Québec are the ones to read together.
