Privacy policy

In effect since July 22, 2026.

AetherWorks is the operating name of Nicolas Santos, a sole proprietorship registered in Canada (business number 754343556), based in Toronto, Ontario. This policy covers this website. Work done under a client agreement is governed by that agreement.

What we collect

Only what you send us. When you use a contact form on this site, we receive your name, your email address, your agency or company if you fill that field, and your message. There is no account to create, no newsletter signup, and no profile built about you.

Cookies and trackers

This site sets no advertising cookies, no ad pixels, and no cross-site trackers. We use Google Analytics to see which pages get read, and it does set cookies, so it does not run unless you agree to it first. Until you accept, no analytics script loads and no analytics cookie is written. If you decline, that choice is remembered and nothing loads on later visits. You can change your mind by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which brings the choice back.

Who processes your information, and where

We are a small studio and we use a small number of established suppliers. Some of them operate outside Québec and outside Canada, which we are required to tell you and which we think you should know regardless.

  • Form delivery. The contact forms post to this site’s own domain, so no third-party form service holds your message. The submission is turned into an email by Resend, a delivery provider operating from the United States, and sent to our mailbox. We keep no separate copy of it.
  • Email. Our mailbox runs on Google Workspace (Google LLC), which stores mail on infrastructure outside Canada.
  • Analytics. If and only if you accept, Google Analytics (Google LLC) receives page-view data, outside Canada. IP addresses are anonymized.
  • Hosting. Our host keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses and requested pages, for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to identify visitors.

We have assessed these transfers as required under Québec’s Law 25 and consider the protection they receive adequate for the kind of information involved, which is business contact details and a message you chose to write. The submission is not stored by a form service, and Resend retains only the delivery record. If you would rather not send anything across a border, write to us from your own mail client instead: hello@aetherworks.io.

What we do with it

We use what you send us to answer you and, if it goes further, to scope and quote the work. We do not sell it, rent it, share it with anyone outside the suppliers listed above, or add you to a mailing list you did not ask for. Project information you share with us is treated as confidential from the first message, before any NDA is signed.

How long we keep it

Correspondence is kept for as long as the relationship it belongs to stays relevant, and deleted on request.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a correction, or ask for deletion, at any time and without explaining why. Under Canada’s PIPEDA and Québec’s Law 25 you have the right of access and rectification. If you are a Québec resident you also have the right to data portability, the right to withdraw consent, and the right to ask that information about you stop being disseminated or be de-indexed where the law allows it. One email is enough: hello@aetherworks.io. We answer within 30 days, which is the legal deadline, and usually within one business day.

If something goes wrong

If a confidentiality incident happens and it presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the people affected and the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, as Law 25 requires, and keep a register of the incident. If you are not satisfied with how we handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec if you are a Québec resident.

The person responsible

Nicolas Santos, owner of AetherWorks, Toronto, is the person responsible for the protection of personal information collected through this site. Questions and requests: hello@aetherworks.io.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who processes it, we update the date at the top of this page.
