Accessibility

We build websites for Ontario and Québec businesses, which means accessibility is part of the work whether or not a client asks for it. Under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, public-facing websites of Ontario organisations are expected to meet WCAG 2.0 level AA. We target WCAG 2.1 level AA, which is the more current standard, on the sites we build and on this one.
What that means in a build
- Semantic structure first: real headings in order, real landmarks, real buttons and links rather than styled containers.
- Every interactive control reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus style.
- Text contrast checked against the 4.5:1 threshold, and interface boundaries against 3:1.
- Meaningful alternative text on images that carry information, and none on images that do not.
- Motion that respects the operating system’s reduced-motion setting.
- Forms with labels that match what the field is called on screen.
Where this site stands
We would rather tell you what is not finished than claim a clean bill of health. As of the last review, this site has known gaps we are working through: the tab and carousel controls inherited from our page framework are not yet fully keyboard-operable, there is no skip-to-content link, and the decorative background videos autoplay without a pause control. None of these block reading the site or contacting us, and all of them are on the list.
If you hit any of them, or anything else, we want to know. It moves up the list.
