Accessibility

We build websites for Ontario and Québec businesses, which means accessibility is part of the work whether or not a client asks for it. Under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, public-facing websites of Ontario organisations are expected to meet WCAG 2.0 level AA. We target WCAG 2.1 level AA, which is the more current standard, on the sites we build and on this one.

What that means in a build

• Semantic structure first: real headings in order, real landmarks, real buttons and links rather than styled containers.
• Every interactive control reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus style.
• Text contrast checked against the 4.5:1 threshold, and interface boundaries against 3:1.
• Meaningful alternative text on images that carry information, and none on images that do not.
• Motion that respects the operating system’s reduced-motion setting.
• Forms with labels that match what the field is called on screen.

Where this site stands

As of the last review, this site has a skip-to-content link, keyboard-operable carousel and menu controls, visible focus styles, and motion that stops under the reduced-motion setting. Known gap: the scroll-driven panels on the home and studio pages depend on scrolling to move through their steps; every step is in the page in full for screen readers, and the panels show their finished state under reduced motion.
